Going to Little Talbot Island has been a godsend since the pandemic. We live 23 miles from this pristine Florida State Park. The state park system is running at 50 percent capacity and recently started closing the park at 5pm to cut down on payroll with the economic crisis. On this day, Black Skimmers were going up and down the shoreline scooping up any small fish within their grasp.

Black skimmers are a favorite of mine, their aspect is so different from perched on shore to skimming the surf.

I love them too. I love how they scoop to feed. Once we started back down the beach, they came flying up behind us. Flying fast and not altering their path. I missed the shot every time. ๐

Thank you! It was a great day of them going back & forth. I only had to sit in my chair watching the show. ๐ค

Me too Tanja. We have a diverse ecosystem here and brings so many different birds. Plus Jacksonville is smack in the middle of the eastern US migration route. ๐

Storms are coming early today, so who knows. My dog is 13 1/2 & she is getting really bad with thunder so we have to plan our days with the weather. It’s always, “will have to see” daily. ๐

Water is a friend. Lightening and thunder are unfriendly tones of nature, cover them with calming music and activities. No matter what you can weather the storm.๐ฆ๐๐ฆ

Yes thank you. I would rather be out photographing the weather, but taking care of my little baby is more important. ๐ฅฐ
