This week Jim Adams has prompted us with choosing songs involving Air | Earth | Fire | Water for this week’s Song Lyric Sunday.
I have chosen “Back to Earth” by Willie Nelson with him singing duets with Merle Haggard (first video) and Melonie Cannon (second video).
I couldn’t find much about this song, but I think it is such a lovely song and worth sharing today. There is no denying WIllie’s guitar and these lyrics fit so well with the mood of his melody.

“Back to Earth”
I guess my heart just settled back to earth I rode a dream so wild and free for all that dream was worth True love is both a blessing and a curse I guess my heart just settled back to earth I remember what you said that night so long ago My dream for you had ended and you let me know So I bounced from sky to sky, tryin' to keep the dream alive But everything I did just made it worse I guess my heart just settled back to earth The songs our love created, I still sing And every night we'd make the rafters ring And tonight I'll sing for everything I'm worth For all the hearts that settle back to earth The songs our love created, I still sing And every night we'd make the rafters ring And tonight I'll sing for everything I'm worth For all the hearts that settle back to earth Lyrics submitted by SongMeanings "Back to Earth" as written by Willie Nelson Lyrics Β© WARNER CHAPPELL MUSIC INC, Warner Chappell Music, Inc. Willie is a real cool dude and I never heard this song before. Thanks for sharing this gem Lisa. I think I like the Melonie Cannon duet better, as she has a very soothing voice.
