Patience – the capacity to accept or tolerate delay, trouble, or suffering without getting angry or upset.
Persistence – firm or obstinate continuance in a course of action in spite of difficulty or opposition.
Perseverance – doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success.
Positive – with no possibility of doubt; clear and definite.

On Friday, 3/27/2020 because of COVID-19, I was laid off with 28 other people with a company that I had given all that I had for 11 1/2 years. Through no fault of my own, nor theirs…I am in uncharted territory that I have not been in for over a decade. Hell, we are all in uncharted territory that we have never experienced.
I was upset for a short period of time. Not at my employer but because the work I did changed lives. Not as in life saving, but I helped other companies market their brand which helped the economy. The economy that has collapsed due to this silent deadly killer.
For the past 4 days, I have been trying to file for unemployment benefits. I feel like Bill Murray in “Ground Hog Day”. I have been booted out of the system just when I get past where I left off, but find I have to start over from the beginning once I finally, after many attempts, get logged back on. I don’t know how many times I had to start over and over and over.

I have practiced my 4 P’s to success during COVID-19 and after 12 hours, 52 minutes, 35 seconds, and a few tears of frustration, I have persevered and have successfully filed my claim. I couldn’t have done this if I had not been persistent and chose to give up instead. Woop Woop!
Now, I have an opportunity to do something that I have been yearning to do for over 20 years…write my novel. I have started character development and am in the process of putting the story and plot together. More to come on that. So, I want to encourage you to follow my 4 P’s to success in whatever it is you are doing during this horrible time in world history. I pray for everyone to be safe!

Yes we are. I have so many ideas and 3 books in my head. Starting to get one out before the other 2 take over. How’s your book coming along?

Good for you! I’m at an impasse. I wrote about 1,500 words today, but I’m kind of stalling for direction.

Well that is pretty good. Let your characters tell you their direction. Sometimes that helps me. Maybe I’m just crazy. 😂

I have an awful feeling that the story peaked too early. Now I need another benchmark event to carry them to the end.

What about adding a flashback to some part of your story that could add as filler? I can’t wait to read it. 😊

That’s definitely a possibility, I think my main character and I are going to spend tomorrow figuring out what she really wants to do. There are a couple of paths she can take. Maybe three. Some of it depends on how her best friend responds to some information she has just received.

Neat advice, Lisa. Much like my years-long Triple P (Practice Persistent Patience) and Triple P with
Double B (Practice Persistent Patience With Bon-Bons) mantras. 🙂

I like the bon-bons.
