This photo was taken at Lettuce Lake Park in Tampa, Florida on January 1, 2020. We were on the main boardwalk near the tower along the Hillsborough River, looked down and there sat this Yellow-Crowned Night Heron just chillin’ right below us. I had to get on my hands and knees to get a somewhat level shot between the horizontal boards of the railing. Happy New Year to us!
